What are you cutting it with? How long will it take? How much fuel used? Wear and tear on the machine? If you're bagging what will you do with the grass? How long will it take to get to the job and back after disposing of grass?

the last guy who did it took him 1.5 hrs with a 48" cut ride on, + 1/2 hr to dispose of grass

i've got a 40" ride on so that'll take 2 hrs i reckon and 1/2 hr for disposal

Unless the cut grass is long it'll disappear into the ground in no time. Never understand why people collect it after the first cut of the growing season. It's also better for the health of the lawn/pitch.

I'd leave it there except the kids would walk it into the house

can anyone give me a price please??

€60-€80 plus 13.5% vat if registered plus whatever it costs to dispose of the grass. If I was doing it I'd mulch. Much faster and no disposal costs therefore cheaper for the client.

the grass is very long and it'll take about three runs to have it cut properly, would it be unreasonable to ask for three times the charge??

If it's so long that it will take 3 runs to get it down to an acceptable level I'd be charging more than 3 times the price for a normal cut. The first run could take ages between emptying the bag every minute and clearing blockages.

I recently cut an acre site that I estimate would take less than an hour to cut if it was well maintained. It took two of us 7 hours to cut.
