Do you have a little receiver stuck to the back of the tv connected by a USB cable?

BPH think you need to check the box or inside the remote itself for a small usb dongle that you will then plug into the TV. Sometimes it is store in a slot were the batteries go.

Hi, nothing anywhere like that. I'll have to get back to shop and enquire. Thanks for the help.

Maybe the current ones don't need a separate dongle.
If you go to the settings menu, theres a section about remote devices.

In the meantime, download the lg remote app. Very handy.

I can't go I to any option on the TV, I can scroll but the enter button doesn't work. I can't go into any option, this enter button is part of registering the magic remote to the TV (me thinks)

Did they not give you a regular remote as well?

TV was ex demo, last in stock so I got only magic remote. I'm going to call in today and have word and bring in the remote. They should solve it.

With our LG tv the magic remote is an extra one for surfing .
There is a different remote for tv

As I said mine is 2 years old so maybe things have changed, but I got a regular remote in the tv box, and then the magic remote, USB lead and dongle in a separate box.

Does the instructions with the to make any reference to the smart remote, or just a regular old fashioned one?

What model number is the tv?
