    Hi

I am posting this on behalf of my mum as we have searched the Internet but can't find the solution.
Essentially is the legal boundary of a semi detached house determined by the boundary wall in the garden or by the midway point between the 2 houses with regards to painting the exterior of the house?

We would really appreciate any help
    Thanks in advance

Without offering legal advice, I'd imagine it's the marking on the land registry maps that will dictate who owns what.

But usually speaking it's centered on the middle of the party wall.
Is there any tell tail signs of a annotated boundary such as an expansion joint or similar.

If you want to post a phot maybe we could advise more.

But I saying that, the best course of action and to avoid future tensions , discuss it with your Neighbour and agree where you will paint to. They might turn around and offer to get there's done at the same time.

Thank you for your quick reply. I can't post photo as I have only joined boards.ie. the difficulty is our painter went ahead and painted our side from the midway point however this has resulted in paint on their side of fence. We are just trying to work out what to do- possibly he should have started at boundary fence and gone up but then we would have less than house pained but it might look better gor sll concerned. Does this make sense?
