Non Eu citizen to Ireland

    Hi,.

I'm Irish but my girlfriend abroad is a non eu national.

She is going through some personal troubles right now with her current family and wants to get out of the situation as soon as possible..

We've considered a study visa but she doesn't have sufficient money in her bank account to show that she can stay long here, however
As she would be staying with me and my family home it wouldn't be an issue.

Could it work that she could apply for a tourist or family / friends Visa (which allows one to stay for 3 months)

And then apply for a study visa whilst she's here? (I would pay for the studies)

Its a really ****ty situation to be in at the moment because time is running out..

If not.. What would I need to meet the marriage visa criteria?

    Many thanks

I'm not sure that this is the right forum for your query... We obviously can't condone sham marriages for the purposes of obtaining a visa. I'll try to figure out which forum could best help you with how she could obtain a light image visa, and I'll move the thread there.

    Edit: Moved to Legal Discussion

How do you know she is having family difficulties? Have you any evidence other than what she says in email / online?

Many an Irishman had been conned under similar circumstances to what you have described.

Marriage won't help either, it won't automatically grant entry to EU - UNLESS - you move to another member state and live there, then she would have a legal right of entry.

Did you not look for advise on this before?
