If I apply for TAMS for a parlour today when should I expect that I can start work?

It won't close as such but the money is divided into tranches that are released at 3 month(?) periods.

If you apply and are approved in the current tranche, you can work away once you get the approval letter.

If you don't get approval, you will still be eligible for the rest of the tranches with your application but no work can start until you get approval. You won't know if you get approval until after the last tranche is processed.

Next closing date is 31st of Sept, every 3months, so if you don't get in your application until Oct 1st it wont even get looked at until next closing date (31st dec). In terms of how long after that until approval, how long is a piece of string, many lads who applied last yr took over a year to get approved, they seem to have sped up some bit last few months, but defo don't hold your breath.

Adding in milking machine items as such should be reasonable straight forward, no need for planning etc, reasonable straight forward approval I found, once your board bia approved it's simular in terms of the dairy/parlour physical. Main pitfall with the plate cooler is make sure if you get grant approved for a single stage you don't instead go for a dual stage (or vis-versa), because they won't pay you anything towards the plate cooler if you don't have that right.

Internal agitation point is an utter no no, which is a pain in the hole! We put up a tank and shed under grant spec 15years ago, with 2 internal slatts, I was refused the safety grant unless I removed them, so I just scrapped the work at the time. There is a tams 2 grant to remove internal agitation slatts and replace them with normal ones, I applied for that in the June round of the grant, I just fired in the reference cost to replace the slatts.
