    Hi,

So I was on hols last week ad all was fine until I started up the trusty macbook and I got a folder with a question mark on it. When I googled it I was told it meant that the Mac could not recognize the driver or something. It recommended that I press cmd-r when booting which I have done.

I need to copy my hard drive (SSD that I installed myself a few months back) and then reformat it but I have no clue what to do, I NEED YOUR HELP!! Well I think I know what to do but cautious that I may delete everything of the SSD!?

Also I can view how much space I have left on the SSD so dunno how much to delete from my portable drive to copy it over, is there a way of finding out?

Edit: Its a macbook 13", 2013 model with most recent OS.

Can anyone guide me here on what to do as slowly going insane with out my trusty macbook!!

Assuming holding CMD-R worked, you need to open Disk Utility and try repairing the drive. If that works you should be able to restart as normal. If it doesn't work you'll need to get an external hd and follow the instructions in the link above to try getting your data of the internal drive.
