    Hi Guys,

Would a night security job at a desk give you enough time to study for a masters in between patrols etc.

Has anybody any experience working night security find you get left alone long enough to focus on other things?

I'm aware you need to obtain a PSA license which shouldn't be a problem.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I know one guy that worked for a local Dunnes at the time. Did the night shift, everyone went home by 10 pm, he went home at 11pm and came back at 6am to get there before anyone else.

Another lad use to do night shifts in an asylum minding older people, quiet enough so he bought a gaming PC and just played it during the night while on duty.

Just make sure you get enough sleep or time off when assignments are due, the hours can catch up to you but just make sure you adjust your own sleep patterns and you should be fine.

I've seen it being done, both night security staff and day staff, really depends on your employer though. Most of them would be fairly chilled about it.

Problem is of course, it's not exactly something you can bring up in the interview! :o You'd have to wait and suss it out once you started.

Very difficult to mix the two. Maybe a weekend shift or one or two evenings or nights per week would be better.
