New 6S poor connections options?

Ok I got a 6 S in Apple Belfast less than a month ago It has great difficulty connecting anything to its hotspot unless it's beside it A few feet away forget about it Even at that,it takes several attempts and at least 10 mins each time I'm in a strong 4 G area and putting the phone beside a Samsung S7 it's getting only…

I'm in a strong 4 G area and putting the phone beside a Samsung S7 it's getting only half the speed of the S7 even swapping sims between the 2 devices
This is on the three network with a plan that includes tethering

This is my first iPhone

Any ideas and can I return the phone
This is very frustrating

Id call Apple about that because its not normal. They'll look after you.
