24v on 12v euipment

    Hi
    Is it ok to put a 24v battery to a 12v pump , fencer etc . Had no problems this far but i dont know much about electrics

    No wouldn't advise that now. You can get a converter if you want
    Didn't know you could get a 24v battery. Thought it was normally two 12v joined.

    You can get 24v batteries, there are some high Ah lithium Ion deep cycle ones on the market, but yes 24v batt banks are normally two 12v linked in series.

    For power tools and that? You can't get them for heavy machinery?

    Are you asking after the event?

    Did the smoke escape? Electrical devices generally don't work once you see the smoke drift away.

    Can't speak for the OP batt but you can get them for marine applications. Presumably you can also get them for other applications where high output voltage is required. It is also possible to get 48v batt's.
