Wasp or nah?

    Found this in the kitchen on the window. Don't know how long she'd been there but thought she was interesting looking. Got her on a piece of paper opened the window and put her on a stone on the window sill. She was very lethargic and didnt move much. I put a drop of honey on the other side of the stone and about 30 secs later the antennae start going like mad and made a beeline for the honey and buried her face in it. I say she cause I'm guessing that's an ovipositer/modified stinger although not a clue otherwise.

    Not a wasp as you usually mean it. I'm not great on insects but I think it's a form of Ichneumon Wasp. Perfectly harmless. And an ovipositor it is.

    Yeah some sort of parasitic wasp was my guess but if you'd said a male horse fly I wouldn't have argued. Interesting critter, thanks for that.
