What if the car was originally taxed as a higher bracket but fitted with a smaller engine... For example I saw an ad where a Vento 1.9TD was converted to a 1.6TD and the tax kept the same

Would there be as much of an uproar?

Three posts so far. Hardly an uproar.

On a side note it really takes a special type of muck savage to come up with this line:

Sure he wouldn't want to arrive to the lakes with an unmolested VAG car...

1.3 on the log book doesn't mean cheap insurance!

There's actually plenty of ads encouraging non disclosure....

It takes a special breed of idiot to include the rear half of a dog in the only outdoor daytime photo of your 'for sale' car.

The last photo in the ad. for the Glanza .....

Jesus imagine if he had the cat in the photo too !

Those ads can be seen to be whatever you like, it's up to the buyer to disclose what they need to disclose.

Plenty of motors out there with funky vlcs anyway, and for the most part it's the authorities fault, I've personally sent back a vlc because of wrong information, then I sent it back again as they had gotten it wrong again, and again, 5 times in total and it still wasn't right. They were putting a black toyota trueno ae111 coupe as a "toyota other estate/wagon - grey"

I gave up and just kept it with the wrong information on it.

Car was stolen & burnt and compensation was paid out regardless.

Of course it's up to the owner to disclose fully but the ads linked go beyond that.

While the car isn't to my taste and perhaps many others, surely you remember the days of being young and people doing silly mods to a car to impress others? Silly spoilers, big wheels and stupid sound systems?

I'm not condoning insurance scams or the likes but to judge someone as a "muck savage" because of the fact they're presumably a young lad doing silly modifications to his or her car is harsh.

Who pi$$ed in your cornflakes? The muck savage remark was more referring to the silly text in the middle of the photo, hence why I posted that picture from the advert.
