    Of course he'll be back. Did anyone think he wouldn't be?

    He won't regenerate in to Smith though, P Cap or whoever will run into him.

    'Degenerating' would be a pretty retrograde act by the production team really, and seems to me like Smith's eagerness to return is simply being misinterpreted. He'll be back in a multi-doctor story, I'd be more surprised if he wasn't really.

    Personally, I think it's just press "silly season" filler.
    Matt's most likely path back into Doctor Who would be Big Finish audios.
