Dreaming about my ex

My ex and I broke up months ago. It wasn't a long relationship and he ended things. Was heartbroken for months but I accept it now and would not take him back for several reasons. I just starting seeing someone cool I really like and have such a good feeling about him, only problem is I dream about my ex. Even if I take a nap , I will dream about him all the time. It's upsetting when I wake up 'cause i am doing my best to move on but it's not something i choose to do. He'll be my first thought in the morning as I'll have been dreaming about him. It's annoying... We don't have contact so I dunno why this is happening?? Anyone been in similar situation ever? Is it 'normal' ?

Heartbreak is a tough thing to take, a lot of people expect a given person to get over heartbreak in weeks, but feeling emotional pain for months is pretty common.
Just take it day by day (but most importantly) don't beat yourself up when you have these dreams. Your dreams don't really mean anything. This break up was a significant event in your life, so of course you'll have the odd dream about it.
Just give it time, keep going forward and before you know it, you'll have moved on with your life and will be dreaming of something else.
