Excellent price, but it *will* die a death fairly rapidly. The GF was given one by her dentist uncle to evaluate; it gave up the ghost last week after about two years.
Take a look at the one-star reviews - when it works it's great, but it won't work for long!

2 years is far from an early death for something like that.

I don't know... if I forked out the RRP, I'd expecting more than 2 years from it..

Didn't notice that, not really of any use to anyone here. :(

    Ah, not necessarily..

.. I'd say a lot of people took up the free Amazon Prime 30 day trial due to this, and the upcoming Prime Sale.

Anyone ever try the cheaper models? Seem to get decent reviews on various sites (except for the batteries not lasting a long time, which seems standard).

    Such as this

Thanks Op! Had my eye on a power flosser for a few weeks so that deal was worth signing up for a free trial for!

If it saves on 1 dental visit it'll have paid for itself

So I can join for free, buy a few bits and cancel in two weeks time without a risk?, tempted to buy this

It might be worth noting that the Waterpik flosser has been proven to be better than the AirFloss. And not marginally better either, quite significantly better.

AirFloss vs Waterpik: Which Is Better?

Both WaterPik and AirFloss are great tools for promoting healthy gums. But which is the superior item?

In a study published in 2012 in the Journal of Clinical Dentistry, clinicians found that that the WaterPik water flosser reduced significantly more plaque from tooth surfaces than the AirFloss.

The study was conducted over a four week period, comparing two groups who used either a Sonicare AirFloss or a WaterPik, in addition to regular brushing. The study found that:
    • The water flosser was 80% more effective for gingivitis reduction than air floss.
    • The water flosser was 70% more effective for plaque reduction.
    • The water flosser was 2X as effective for plaque removal from lingual surfaces and 3X as effective at the gingival margin than air floss.

From further reading it appears that even the superior water flossers are no match for basic string flossing. The scraping motion of the string is what removes plaque and the water and air flossers just don't offer this.
Water flossers are advised for those with braces. For everyone else, get out the string for best results in keeping your teeth healthy.

I have a Waterpik but it's been in the press for a good 18 months now.. regular flossing just seems better!

If you got the Philips Sonicare AirFloss at the OP price, then its a good deal. They are great if yea hate flossing the traditional way.
I've had 3 so far, with 2 breaking after a year of use :) when they break, they go a little crazy just actuating over and over on their own

I got a Waterpik after the first AirFloss broke, but it uses so much water it seems like its trying to waterboard yea!
