Posession of cocaine

I was found to be in possession of cocaine at the weekend. I realise the stupidity & gravity of the seriousness of this. I'm not sure what to expect & I'm sick at the thoughts of it.

I was searched at a concert & it was a small amount less than 20 euros worth. The garda rang me & has said it is to be sent off to Dublin and he'll contact me to let me know if I need a solicitor in a few weeks.

I'm not a regular user, I'be tried it maybe 5 or 6 times in the space of 10 years, I wouldn't even know where to buy some if I wanted it this was left behind at a house party. I will certainly never risk it again.

I work with children & have to be garda vetted so this will probably end my career. I'm booked to bring my daughter to America next year which will also be off the cards.

Can anyone advise of what the possible outcomes of this are?

In your situation I would recommend taking professional legal advice as soon as possible, I wouldn't be waiting around for the Guard to get back to me.
