Aer Lingus Complaint

    I am hoping someone here can help me. I am an American who recently traveled to Ireland on holiday. My wife and I were treated very badly by Aer Lingus, who pulled us off a flight because my wife had been air sick 2 weeks prior. We were told after boarding the plane that we had to get medical clearence to fly. Aer Lingus offered us no assistance what so ever. We got the required letter from a physician with considerable expense. He determined there was absolutely nothing wrong with my wife. She did not look sick, she did not act sick. she was not sick. Captain Lee with no medical training and having never seen or talked to my wife determined she was unfit to fly. After we managed to make it home on another flight. Aer Lingus lost our luggage. It has been 2 days now. I want to file an official complaint against Aer Lingus. They will not answer the phone or return my calls. Is there an Irish Better Business Bureau? Things like this hurt tourism in Ireland, a land of wonderful people and one bad airline.

    Your wife was air sick two weeks previously - and what you are effectively claiming is that the airline made a note of the incident, including her name and logged it on their system so that the crew on her next flight were made aware of her 'history'.

    Sounds like a far-fetched conspiracy theory - are you sure there wasn't more to it than simple air sickness?

    Are you sure there is nothing more to your story? I have ben airsick on Aer Oingus flights and have never had any problem with a return flight etc? Not being ride but did she cause a fuss or mention a different health issue to staff?

    I had a 4 year old with travel sickness on a flight. He was handed a sick bag and tissue. No note of name and we returned a week later without issue.

    Aer Lingus is now owned by International Airlines Group (IAG) (owner of British Airways, Iberia and Vueling). it is no longer an Irish-owned airline.

    IAG is the parent company. Aer Lingus is still an Irish company.

    What BabySlam said is 100% correct - Aer Lingus is no longer an Irish-owned company. It has joined the same club as Guinness, Murphys (stout) and HB (Ice Cream) in that all are now wholly-owned subsidiaries of multinational companies.

    Of course you are also correct in that Aer LIngus is an 'Irish' company in the sense that it's registered office is in Dublin but that's as far as it goes.
