    Hello

Hope someone can help I am buying solid Oak Doors for downstairs the whole door ie. Arcatrive etc. But the guy that's going to put the panelling in thinks I should paint the archives white......
Don't like the sound of that. I know the skirting will have to be white.

Has anyone done this? Love to see how it looks.
    Thank you

The most common finish with that set up would be
    Oak door left natural
    Everything else white/colour

The door frame , architrave paneling and skirting are seen as all part of the one piece of furniture , some times the capping on the paneling is matched with the handrail of the stairs and window boards if disired so all the carpentry in the house ties together.

At the end of the day it's your house and if you perfer mixing it up a bit knock yourself out.

Walnut door and architrave, maple floor, white frame and skirting, as Bonzo said its all down to personal preference.
