    Anyway to prevent this.

I prefer to enter my debit card info for each purchase and not have it stored with my account info to prevent fraudulent purchases. Is there any way to do this.

You can use the edit function to change your number to a fictitious one, then use PayPal option when purchasing.

Amazon will ask for the card number if one wants to ship to a different address.

And they are very good with Customer Service, they will refund you (and blacklist the card of course) if you claim a purchase unauthorised.

Just go to My Account..Manage Payments and delete the stored card.

    Simple.

Where is the paypal option? I've used Amazon regularly for many years and never saw a paypal option.
There are certain payment methods that you can't use at Amazon. We don't accept:
    • Cheques or postal orders.
    • Cash in any currency.
    • Book tokens.
    • Purchase orders.
    • International wire transfers.
    • Direct debits or standing orders.
    • PayPal.
    • Bank transfers.

There isn't, unless not when buying from Ireland on .co.uk site.

Sorry, I assumed all online sites used PayPal or stripe now.

I've been there but it not only wants to delete my card details but also the last address that I used.

They have a simple Add Card why no simple Delete Card:rolleyes:

I think they want to keep me locked in and all I want to do is Break Fee:D

Why tell someone to do something that you don't even know exists on a site?

A very inaccurate assumption based, I presume, on not using many sites?

I bit the bullet and pressed delete and went into manage addresses to see if it deleted my address but it didn't so dont need to re-enter that now.

Next time I shop will the system auto save my card details, I read somewhere that this is what happens.

Yep, you just have to go into your details and delete the card details after every purchase if you don't want the details staying there
