    16:35 Newmarket, July Cup 6f, 18 runners

I've backed Arod at 40s, and 8s to be in the first four.
This horse has always run at 8f+ and ran in the Derby.
He has no chance at 6f.

Magical Memory for me. Things didn't go right for him at Royal Ascot last time. Hoping he can get his Group One today.

    Quiet reflection for me
Big weight allowance and I think quick ground will improve her.
I wasn't that impressed at royal ascot but the race previous to that on good ground she showed a strong finishing burst to win easy.
At royal ascot she seemed to grind it out.
The weight allowance swings it in her favour.

My god that July Cup is some race.

Looks like the Coolmore money is piling on to War Decree in the 2yo.

I've gone in fairly heavy ew on Washington DC 33/1 . Won 4 times from 11 runs , 3 on gf including the Windsor Castle , 1 on aw .
A literal interpretation of his Navan runs would suggest he 's 5 L better on gf .
His run behind quiet reflection on ground that would not have suited , beaten 1.5 L gives him every chance on today's going .
I think a high draw may also help .
    He looks overpriced .

Fancy Pindaric 16-1 2.05 Tipperary reared up on both starts looks overpriced.

3.10 at Tipperary I'd say Takeachanceonme is quite big at 11s with William Hill. Ran very wide and probably had a lot to do from the rear last time at Bellewstown but kept on well to finish 3rd, 2.5L off Jembatt. Takeachance on me is now 6lbs better off and weighted to reverse the form so I can see him going well today.

I didn't see that race at York
    I listened to commentary
3 wide throughout held up in a steadily run race, then into the straight couldn't get a gap
    Sounds like an awful ride

Sneaking regard for Custom Cut to win the Ascot Summer Mile. Jockey knows him well enough.Yes form does not look great but he was running carrying huge weight.Epsom performance looked good. Each way

Would like to see Convey win, but he does not win much. Ignore run at Ascot

Darley: Give a chance to Air Force Blue lol

Group 2 at Newmarket, with no confidence, try Cunco

Some nice races in the US tonight

You do people fancy for the Belmont Invitational Derby & Oaks?

His horse Cunco is playing up. Sure Frankel was a bit mad at 2

Have to stick with Air Force Blue in the July Cup, not wild about his chance but a Danzig line classic flop going back to sprinting on firm ground is always an appealing prospect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭uxiant

Odds around 70 on the exchange is too big for Goken. Only reason I think he is this big is the ground and I reckon he'll be fine. There's not a lot between the field so maybe a couple at bigger prices should be shorter. He won a conditions race over 5f by 6L at Chantilly on French good which in reality is good to firm and also a Group 3 at Maisons Laffitte. He probably just lost his form coming to England but showed he's in good nick when 3rd in the King's Stand where he didn't get a clear run and flew home. He would have got very close to Profitable that day if not for meeting trouble and the extra furlong will suit.

    Eastern Impact for me.

The old Rossom favourite Educate wins at 18's! Hope a few were on.

Cracking July Cup coming up. Profitable has done little wrong and although his trip is 5f the ground may be a bit quick and he may get home although on his only 6f start he was well beaten he'd be my dart even if Limato was ahead that day. Sole Power still going too, what a warhorse

Certainly didn't get the run of the race. Never had a hope at all.

That's one that's really gone wrong for the boys at Coolmore.

Sole Power was running a bit of a blinder before he got properly bumped and hampered.

Air Force Blue might be gone, I am afraid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,063 ✭✭✭UrbanFret

That should be the end of that as far as air force blue is concerned. Wouldn't win a seller at the moment, Clearly didn't train on. Why O brien continues to rob the punters running him is the annoying part of it.

Why are people backing him? The form shows he clearly hasn't trained on so why back him? Ballydoyle and Coolmore aren't forcing people to back him and have every right to run their horses.

Don't think they were doing much more than giving him something approaching a training run here. Ryan didn't exactly get after him at any stage and there was a time near the end where it looked like he could have made up a few lengths but Moore didn't push him out.

If they were going to retire him you'd think they'd trying harder on his last race.

The definition of rob , is roughly "as taking the property of another (including money), with the intent to permanently deprive the person of that property, by means of force or fear"

How was Coolmore guilty of robbing punters? Did they express views that they expected to win?

They are entitled to see what they have in Air Force, after all a few of their other guineas flops did okay in the sprints

They wouldn't exactly put you off either with this " he shows a lot of speed at home" "on this better ground hopefully we'll see a different horse" and the like.

That's Aidan's stock answer to most questions though. There are some trainers that you'd take a lot of notice when they're being interviewed (John Gosden for example). Aidan rarely gives any real insight into any of his horses before a race, apart from the usual predictable quotes.

Fcuk me, only happening to tune into ATR to catch up on Belmont tonight. Who the fcuk is that woman butchering the US national anthem!?

    Camelot Kitten
    Effinex
    Ballydoyle
    Marking

Lucky 15 for the 4 big races at Belmont tonight, good luck all!

Camelot Kitten shaped like it was going to challenge but found nothing. Fair play to Jamie Spencer though, he rode the sting out of everything else. Fella is riding out of his skin, ridiculous he was considering retiring.

You thought that was bad, you should have seen the "opera" man attempt it during last years Arlington Millions Day. Yikes. Surprised that it did not spook out many of the horses.

Maybe they should follow some of the GAA , with a tape recorded version, lol
