Requesting garda call logs.

I need to access call logs made to Garda regarding a spurious complaint made against me. The times of the calls are the only thing of importance and will exonerate me 100%. The Garda are not following up on the complaint but it is to be used against me in family court.

I spoke to a Garda about this and she told me to speak to the superintendent. I'm just wondering about my legal right to obtain these records. I have no solicitor and cannot afford one nor can I get legal aid.

Any advice would be a great help. Thanks.

What logs do you expect there to be?

Recieved call logs. I'm assuming they have incoming calls recorded? I just need verification of the times they recieved the call.

After the taping controversy I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. Particularly calls made to a smaller station. Additionally, CLID withheld numbers aren't going to have extra info just cause its an AGS phone and won't be any use as proof of anything.

Ok, number wasn't withheld, complaint was made and apparently a car was despatched. Not a small station. Garda must have some record of time call was received, it would be a pretty critical piece of evidence in a crminal matter but this is civil.

OP this is the second thread you've opened up which looks like you've serious legal issues. I would strongly suggest speaking to a professional.

Contact FLAC in the first instance and also look for legal aid if finances are a concern.

Been down both those routes. It is not particularly serious, my ex is fabricating situations to attempt to discredit me as I am looking for more access. It's actually fairly laughable tbh. She phoned the Garda to tell them I had kidnapped my children when I was sitting in the car where I was supposed to be at the right time with the kids. She was standing 5 meters away on the phone looking at us. Time of the call is within my access period. Fully exonerated but I need to prove time of the call . I just need to be prepared. The first I knew of any of this was a solicitors letter. I just thought she was on a regular call. Like i say, comical stuff but has to be taken seriously.

My other thread is a hypothetical protest against secrecy in the courts system. Nothing of any legal needs.

Kind of contradicting yourself here. If you can prove you can't afford a solicitor then you should be entitled to legal aid. If this case is so important to you then you would do whatever it takes to make sure you are fairly represented, especially with malicious accusations

Legal aid takes a while to be sorted, like months, could be he didn't need representation up until now when things heated up and now he doesn't have time.

Op you need to write to the superintendent of the station and request all available details of this call and what happened, they will have a record on the pulse system if a car was dispatched but be prepared they may not have exact details other than a call was received and the went out and nothing came of it as it was a civil matter

It depends on whether it was inside of Dublin or no. Much greater chance of it being recorded if it was in Dublin or in a Divisional HQ outside of Dublin. If she just rang a local station it may not be logged though. Whether you are entitled to the record is another matter.
