Nearly identical cars, difference in price?

So, I was looking online and have seen two nearly identical Honda CRVs.
Both 2007, both 2 litre petrol, both nct till next February, only 2 thousand miles difference between them.
Both being sold by garages that state they will have a warranty ( don't know what for or how long yet)
But one is asking 6950, the other 4950.

Why would there be such a difference? I don't know any mechanics to check out cars for me

The 6950 will be overpriced to allow for trade-in and a 'generous' reduction in price to the buyer. The 4950 probably wont budge on price and say its the straight sale price, more if your trading.

There may be differences in how well prepped and serviced the dearer car is, it may also have a better warranty.
€6950 is a fair bit strong though. As above there's probably a discount to be had.

    Links to the ads?

I'm on the phone so can't link, sorry!
One is in a garage in rathcoole, the other on the long mile road ( I know!)

The cheaper one could have issues with its paint and other cosmetic issue. Just because 2 vehicles have similar mileage doesn't mean that they've had the same live.

Look at both and judge them on condition not price.

To be fair, the cheaper one isn't suspiciously cheap either. 9 year old 2.0 petrol isn't hot stuff to the general public.

If these are the two hours are talking about, the more expensive one is the new model.

    That's them!
    Thanks, that makes sense!

Any reason why the newer model has an older reg number?

It's not a Honda CRV but a friend of mine is selling his 2007 Grand Vitara, he owns it since new and it is in great condition. He's after buying a new Kia and scrapped his wife's Tigra against the Kia, they are down to one car now (retired couple)

    He's asking €3400, it's well worth considering.

Apologies for shameless plug, it's not mine though, just a very decent car for sale that might interest you. Location might not suit you though.

Just to point out in case it matters to you, older model is manual and newer is automatic.
