    mate asking me as he is going for a diesel this time out, what is the reliability like ?

    the engine is pretty well proven.

    Whats the suspension like and indeed the rest of the car

    as these are all french faulty electrics tended to be their downfall, are those post 2010 models still the same ?

    I know ford changed from a 16v to an 8v version of the 1.6 HDI, and eventually to a revised 1.5.
    Not sure what way PSA went with this engine.
    Megane is a completely different engine again.

    I'd say the Megane is the best all rounder (in terms of desirability, style, driving) of the ones you listed.

    PSA moved to 1.6 8V as well (DV6C, DV6D and DV6Fx variants) which are much better reliability wise than the 16V.

    Newest version DV6FC, that comply with EURO6, dropped Eolys, added Urea and delivers power of 88kW (120PS) and torque 300Nm.
