I set hot water to come on after 6 each morning on my gas boiler. About 3 years old. I don't set rads to come on as its summer (!!)..
Anyway , I'm of the view is more economical just to run the hot water. I think if you only run the hot water it's cheaper than setting the hot water and the rads. Why I ask is missus having problems drying clothes and wants to put sheets and stuff on kitchen rads ..I said no ..as its too dear! I'm thinking if the boiler is running anyway is it actually dearer to have the central heat on as well as hot water in the morning...thinking turn off rest of rads and leave the 2 on in kitchen only for the hour or so in morning..views please!

Cheaper to run the hot water on its own. Wont break the bank leaving one rad on during that period. I would worry about the eventual destination of the dampness from the wet clothes though.
