Think I found an Asian paper wasp in the house?

This little chap landed besides me, didn't look like the common wasp I'm used to, anyone confirm what it is? Google telling me it's an Asian paper wasp, it's a long way from home if it is. Dangerous?

Probably better off in the nature and Birdwatching forum, there's a few people who know their bugs in there.

Whilst having some exotic species of Asian wasp in your garden sounds exciting, it's much more likely to be a native species such as a potter wasp.

This is an Ancistrocerus species which are commonly known as Potter Wasps.
They're solitary wasps, i.e. they don't form colonies like Common Wasps, and are harmless. They are a native species.
