Hi, I am down to last round of interviews for a LA job, I have worked for 10 years in the civil service. Has anybody any experience of people switching between the two, does your pension and service follow you as it would going to another CS department.

    Thanks

As far as I know it does - I know someone who moved last year, and it was seamless, down to holidays pro rata for the rest of the year. Paid his last fortnightly by cs, and 2 weeks later by the local authority. Pension and all deductions etc exactly the same.

good luck with the interview - incidentally, if you don't mind saying, what job/type of position is it for?

Hi Just wondering did you make the jump to Local Authority and of so how did it go?
Is there a big difference between the two?

Not sure if I should post here or create a new thread.

I'm a clerical officer looking to move from a LA in Dublin to the Tipperary / Kilkenny area. I cant transfer to LA's down there unless somebody swaps with me.
Anybody offer any advice on how to get down to a LA / civil service position?
