Mobile broadband solution for business in difficult site

I work for a business who have an offsite location where a good broadband connection is required. At any time it may be used by up to 5 users and there would be a good amount of use on the line as well as VPN connections back to the head office server.

As such we need a reasonably fast, stable connection but having tried but Vodafone and Three 3G / 4G broadband we are not getting anything like the kind of signal quality we need. Both signals seem to worse than they used to be, particularly the Three one but the Vodafone one is now only giving a download speed of about 1.3mbps too.

Other than mobile broadband with a mobile phone network, what other options are there out there?

A fixed wireless operator. Might be more reliable then mobile broadband. However the truth is no wireless technology is really reliable.

I assume you have checked that ADSL and VDSL aren't available and maybe even looked into a business fibre connection?

This is inside a building where no lines are available and no external antenna can be mounted.

    Am I stuck with 3G or 4G?

You need to sort out a better premises if this is something important to your business productivity.

A decent 4G solution might do it, but usually involves an externally mounted antenna. FWA will require it.

Not possible, it's a building site.

I'll take a look at drilling through the wall to get an antenna into the main part of the building. The room in question is not even allowing the public wifi in so it's very well insulated.

Depending on the specifics of your location a speaker tripod, some sandbags and an SMA antenna cable out a door/window may get you up and running. Getting outside of the insulation (Aluclad etc are a nightmare) will often prove to be night and day.
