Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in San Sebastian. Thinking of heading over for 4 days mid September.

Also which is the best airport to fly into Biarritz or Bilboa? Both are similar prices but Biarritz is obviously closer, but is the public transport decent? Dont want to spend half a day trying to get to the hotel:confused:

    Thanks

We stayed in pension Edorta. http://www.pensionedorta.com/ It was grand. Right in the old town beside all the Tapas restaurants. We got bus from Bilbao bus station in to the centre of San Sebastian about 10 minutes walk from the above Pension.

We stayed at the Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra a couple of years ago. Nice & very central - they were having a makeover at the time, so I think we got a pretty good deal. We flew into Bilbao, an easy bus ride from there to San Sebastian.
Enjoy, it's a fantastic city (esp. if you like food!).

Hotel Record is a decent, if dated, hotel in the Gros neighbourhood. Very close to the beach and plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants on your doorstep. I stayed in June for 2 nights for approx €75 per night, good breakfast for €11.
