I have changed from a Ferguson Ariva to a Technomate TM Twin Enigma 2 box.

I have always had the same Cyfra + Seca card and have continued to renew my subscription every 15 months or so via satsklep.

However I cannot get my card working in the Linux receiver. Can anyone help please? I'd need a very basic step by step walk through guide as I don't fully understand OScam/Softcam etc etc

    I'm wondering since I'm a complete novice should I just get: https://www.satellitetv.ie/smargo-card-reader
until i learn more, would this even work? I'd imagine I'd have the same problems activating it.

    Any assistance would be appreciated...

    You dont need additional hardware.

Just install Cccam from the softcam menu. It will then read the card.

You will have to edit the CCcam.cfg file. Look up one for Nc+ and edit it in notepad++

Or you can use oscam, but you will have to config that too http://kos.hdsat.pl/menu-26.html

Thanks for your help STB. Got it working using CCcam. It took many hours but I got there.

I am just wondering if the card will update as normal?

Also I have a SmartWi for multi room viewing ( http://smartwi.net/ ) which worked perfectly in my 2 Arivas. Any ideas on how to get it working in my new Technomate?

Yes the card should update, but if it doesn't you just need to go to one of the NC+ Tp's for it to update, can take an hour or so. In the CCcAM menu there is a submenu that tells you the entitlements on the card (or how much it has updated them til).

If it worked in the Ariva, it will work in the Technomate.

I have never heard of smartWi. How does it work ?

NC+ card goes into a small card reader (master) in the middle of the house somewhere, and the two slave cards go into your two receivers where the NC+ card would normally go.

"With the SmartWi Multi room Solution the NC+ viewing card is inserted into the SmartWi Master, and a client/slave card is inserted into each decoding unit. When each decoder receives the encrypted signal, this is instantly transmitted wireless to the Master with the provider viewing card – with a request for the correct ‘answer’ to the request.

This is processed in the smart card exactly as if the smart card were still in the decoder unit, and subsequently transmitted to each client/slave card – and the signal flow continues without interruption."
