I am a completed novice here. I just need to remove the rusted nut on this trailer wheel. Any tips. Used wd40 and have some pretty strong tools at hand. I imagine lefty loosy still applies to nuts? Can someone also tell me what the parts of the wheel are in the video and what might be making the noise? Thanks

Get yourself a nice pipe 1 meter or even longer and slip it over a wheel brace and you should crack it loose. Just don't decide to jump on the wheel brace or pipe because you might shear the whole stud off.

Impact gun and failing that it might need reddening . If heat or impact gun unavailable , stick a socket on it an give it a shock with a few smacks of a hammer. Lefty loosey is correct.

You need penetrating oil. Or heat.

Breaker bar or length of pipe over wheel brace, I've not known any nut yet that didn't either open or split when these are used.

I managed to remove some of the broken bits inside via a hole in the back. I imagine they are broken bits of a brake disk. it is spinning freely now except for what seems like a washer around the spinner that is getting caught a small bit.

I still cant get that nut off.

Big Red Wrench; heat it up with a blow torch if it's somewhere that won't cause a fire or melt plastic. Works 95% of the time, not on fuel tanks.. Obviously an induction tool is better, but expensive.
heat, then either an impact wrench if you have one (it vibrates) or an air hammer to break up the rust. You should plan to replace them all.
Then graphited penetrating oil, once it cools.

Make sure your socket is a tight fit; if it's a 6-sided nut, don't use a 12-sided socket, it'll run right through it, left, not right.

If you do, nut extractor; I needed one of these for my first oil change gone very wrong.

Try Eric the car guy's rusted nut vid; proper oxy rig woudl be good, but a €40 blowtorch will be better than nothing.

Nice find, I would have went all barbarian and just sheared the stud with a breaker bar and bought a new one :D
