Hey I am looking at buying a house that has an oil fired central heating system. I'd like to add a solid fuel option to the heating system in the form of a stove.

Is this possible and what considerations should I take in? Thanks!

The biggest consideration is getting a plumber who understands solid fuel pipework.

In what way? Sorry i have no clue at all about what is involved!

Is it possible to do? I just think the dual option would be economical and it's probably a good time to take it on when we are completing the extension/renovation

Just because a plumber is qualified does not mean they always have a clue how to Pipe solid fuel.
And personally I wouldn't fit a stove unless you have access to really cheap fuel

So a qualified plumber is not being thought on solid fuel by Fas?

On paper yes, in practice, absolutely not.
I've seen endless botched solid fuel jobs by qualified plumbers. By no fault of their own, simply by being not taught on the job.
Guys who were trained in industrial plumbing, having never seen a solid fuel appliance for instance. Or much more commonly, guys who served 4 years in a housing estate doing the exact same type house for the majority of their apprentiship, then going out on their own attempting to fit a stove, assuming it's the same as piping an oil boiler like they had done for years. It's frightening actually

Couldn't agree more it all depends who you train under can be taught it all on paper but a lot can't do it in realality.
The Celtic tiger destroyed tradesmen all trades became what we know as house bangers can't do anything other than that
