Adding wifi router to UPC modem

Hi have Upc/virgin router but wifi is shocking bad. Can I wire Ethernet from UPC router to below router and use instead? Is this effectively bridging? Picked one below as I don't want to spend a fortune on a router but any other in that price range that are recommended?

Thats an ADSL Router, you need a Cable router.

What Virgin Media/UPC Router/Hub are you using ?, you may or may not be able to bridge depending on the model.

Also, if they have switched you to IPV6/DSlite, you cant bridge full stop :-/

You don't need bridging. Just connect the new wifi router to the upc router, then disable DHCP on one of them. You don't want an adsl router or a cable router, all you want is a cheap switch with wifi.

Ideally use both devices to create wifi hotspots with the same security settings, but space them apart to improve coverage over the whole house. Otherwise disable wifi on the upc router.
