What is the cable type from efibre router to the wall plate?

I want to reduce the length currently 35 feet want to change the length to 1 metre.

Plus there is a box from between the wall socket and modem. What is this?

Most likely you don't have efibre just regular DSL if that's your setup.

It's a standard 2 or 4-wire phone cable (RJ11 connector at each end). If there are only two wires connected, they should be the centre two on the connector - usually red & green.

Any phone lead should suffice, electrically. Even a cheap one should be fine over a distance of 1 metre. Nonetheless, check your speed before and after switching cables just to be sure.

Is the box between the wall socket and router free floating, something like this:

If so, it's a standard DSL filter to split the signal between phone and router. If you don't have a phone plugged into the 'phone/line' side of it, you can leave it out.

The wall plate has 2 connections for rj11

    A.1 with a telephone symbol

    B. 1 with an Internet symbol

I have the telephone plugged into A.

But B starts with a rj11 connection but then goes into a rj11 connector at one end

And no connection just a cable coming out of the other to the router

    Just a follow up.

    A 2 pin rj11 connector worked 😀.
    Happy days,
Thanks to you both for your help.

No for my net gear unmanaged switch.

Is that a 3rd party installation?

OpenEirs NTU is RJ45(With centre pins live) + RJ11 for voice.
