HELP - Thailand Visa

    Hello,

I'm off to Thailand for 6 weeks on Thursday but of course being the idiot I am, getting a VISA escaped me.

Apparently if staying over 30 days I need a VISA, but I am flying out of Thailand for 2 weeks in the middle to go to Bali.

Should this enable me to avoid getting the VISA or am I screwed? Any previous travellers to Thailand - I'd appreciate your advice!

    Thank you

if you are flying out in the middle for 2 weeks you are not staying more than 30 days in a row, and will just pay the exit tax, and start new 30 days upon entering thailand again ?

You will be fine if you are leaving for 2 weeks and dont exceed the 30 days.Thai immigration will stamp your passport as you exit.
You will get another 30 days when you come back in.
Thats provided you enter by air.Its only 15 days if you come back via a land crossing.

The exit tax is gone - it's built into airfares now.

true !! unrelated but they still charge 200,000 rupia from Bali I think, about 20 euro. few friends were nearly broke on the way home from there, luckily the rest of us had some money left !!

    As mentioned, you're grand.

Fly out again within 30 days = no problem (Visa On Arrival)

When you re-enter Thailand, if you come by land (which you're not), it's 15 days afaik

When you re-enter Thailand, if you come by air, it's another 30 days (Visa on Arrival)

People do it the whole time for Thailand. First time we were there we got a double-entry visa as the first time we landed we were going to be over 30 days.
