Just wanted to warn everyone out there there is a seller on done deal selling fake Scotty Cameron Notchback Tour only putters, he's based somewhere around Wicklow, I thought I had a good eye for fakes but these are really close to the real thing, I was lucky I tricked him into meeting up again and got my money back. He has a few of them so be warned

    Did you report him?

I reported multiple ads which had fake Titleist gear on Donedeal last week. Ads remained (still there now), only thing that happened was I got multiple emails from Donedeal asking me to rate their service - for doing nothing it appears. I got some wedges last year which looked the biz, turned out to be fakes.

I'd steer clear of Donedeal unless you're certain what you're getting, at least on Adverts people can comment and are liable to call out if something is fake.

How do you go about finding out they are fake?

    Serial number?

To be honest I thought I had a good knowledge of Scotty putters and I thought it was genuine, especially the head but what got me suspicious was the shaft, even though it had all the correct stickers it had no serial number under the shaft and had a superstroke grip instead of original.like Like Newport said unless your 100% it's legit stay away from done deal

Had an inkling after hitting a few balls, so brought them into McGuirks. The sales guy pointed out several differences that seem obvious now (shaft a bit thinner, weight different, some of the stamping/paintfill), but not at the time. Tried to contact your man who sold them, but no response. Live and learn I guess

Out of interest, are they selling them at near going rate, or is it €50 for something that should be €150?

I never buy from Donedeal but use Adverts and eBay, will have to be more careful from now on.

If you mean the wedges, I paid €80 each for them. Probably to be got for €115 in McGuirk's at the time. So a good price, but not stupidly cheap.

They are top quality to be fair, high price point but definitely hold their value better than any golf equipment imo. I see your location, you should pop down to the Golf Studio at Celbridge Driving Range, really good trade in value and they often have quite a few Scottys.

They are top quality, but unless they are better suited to you than your current putter then they won't change anything about your score. And lots of other brands will do just the same. I have a putter weakness myself, but at the end of the day, a large part of putters is cosmetic and looks. A lot of the best people at putting I've seen use battered old Ansers or Odyssey 2-balls.

Brady23 is correct about holding their value though. If you buy a second hand Scotty now and it doesn't work for you, just sell it again and you'll get your money back (provided you look after it well obviously), even in a couple of years. I've done this numerous times in the past and always got at least what I paid for them back. So they work out very cheap long term.

I had the Newport studio and odyssey putter at the same time, to be fair the scotty looked the biz but I felt I putted better with the odyssey sold the scotty on adverts it was to nice to sit on the bench

See that's my worry I think I'm better at putting with the Odyssey it has brought my game on so much.

The Odyssey I'm looking at is the latest model 2 ball for 180

Not to state the obvious, but if you're putting well with your Odyssey then don't change it!

Well I was interested in updating the putter or changing as its a bit auld and battered at this stage. Well I bought it used at the time so wasn't in best condition

What about getting it refinished? Come up as new, even a different finish. I used this guy before, great results.
