Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Options for Replacing Upstairs Flooring

    Hi,

The upstairs flooring in my house is really beginning to become an issue for me and my wife. Basically what it is, is MDF board, screwed down into the joyces, with just a floating click lock floor laid over.

Now these MDF panels are really noisy and creaky. Even to put weight on them makes them creak. It's really madly laid as well, with humps in places. Somebody walking upstairs sounds like thunder downstairs, and the noise of somebody even tip toeing wakes our two boys, both under 2.

It would be handy to get rid of the MDF from underneath, but what are my options from there then? Would it be at all possible to put concrete in, to make for a more solid, and hopefully, more soundproof solution?

    Thanks guys

As for concrete floors retrofitted, forget about it.

That I find very hard to believe.

    Thanks.

Whether you find it hard to believe or not, it's the truth. Even rocking my 6 month old to sleep makes the floor creak. Standing still!
