    Hi guys,
Appreciate it if you could answer a couple questions around the LG 65E6V

    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202091-oled65e6v.aspx

I know there's been a lot of moving and shaking around sterling lately, but could you please give me an expected best price including delivery to Dublin ?
Is the 6yr warranty coverage still valid ? Pretty important this factor, as I had an issue with an old Panasonic P65VT20 where the extended 5yr warranty came in very handy a couple year back, so it's definitely something I look for nowadays.
Would there be any indication around build dates of the set, as I'd read of some issues relating to initial models that resulted in some returns and exchanges ?
Regarding payment, usually go by debit card but obviously amounts like this are above the the limits allowed - what are the options in this regard ?

Appreciate any info or help with any of this in advance....cheers.

Hi McDermotx, thanks for your post

With regards to the warranty, yep we still have the 6 year warranty in place, and this is valid for UK and Ireland, so will be on this model for you

We did have a request from a customer a while back regarding the build dates, and we were able to get info ok on it through our warehouse, but i believe all the ones then were later builds

As far as the payment, we can arrange to split the payment into a few amounts if need be, or could maybe arrange a bank transfer if it was handier for you?

    Regards
    Brian

Thanks for the quick reply Brian.........
Thats good news regarding the warranty. Any indication on what the final damage would be including delivery to Dublin seeing as how the sterling/euro is all over the place right now ? Realise it's a somewhat bulky item etc
Will look into the payment options as well, so thanks again.

I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with this TV.  Looking to upgrade myself soon and have my eye on this set...

Initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive.....early days of course as I only got around to starting calibration yesterday.

Looks great in the flesh, and extremely sturdy despite the wafer-thin panel, sound bar is fine but never going to replace a dedicated receiver, which is not really a surprise. Very slick moving around the various features with the magic remote, and despite being somewhat wary of the cluttered 'main menu' it works very well once you get used to it, and to be fair, the TV is very on the ball detecting which inputs are in use.
Haven't gone through all the built-in apps, but Netflix works fantastic, even on wireless performance and supports the HDR features straight out of the box, as well as the DolbyVision features like Marco Polo which look absolutely stunning. Using the likes of a Nvidia Shield appears fine as well, but even with a direct connection to the TV, it's Netflix performance is hampered by its inability to transmit the DolbyVision signal, though HDR works fine. Kodi playback is pretty good, though I generally use it directly into a receiver in order to bitstream the HD audio, rather than directly into the TV, but again even 1080p material looks excellent.
SkyHD appears ok, but needs a bit more tweaking on the picture settings to compensate for the upscaling involved.

Main event though is UHD Blu-ray and this is where the TV really stretches it's legs. Test run with adjusted calibration was The Revenant last night, and it looked extraordinary. Trying out parts of The Martian as well really demonstrates how much of a jump HDR can give over regular BD playback, and the TV picks up the HDR signals and defaults to whichever settings you set up beforehand. No sign of any audio sync issues either when using twin HDMI playback (video to TV, HD audio to amp). Black levels are excellent as well, more than a match for my old plasma. Look forward to trying out some more media such as Deadpool, Star Trek etc

Big shout out to the Richersounds lads for delivering the goods....the model was a 606 build as well which puts its build date only a month or two back, so thanks go out for that as I'd heard of some general picture issues with some early models.
