Have 152 Leon st fr 2.0 tdi 150 with ea288 engine. Got 2nd service done recently (30k kms) under service plan. Fuel filter not done "no need". Can't find reference to interval in manual, online research only leads to USA guidelines on servicing golf with same engine, and refers to changing fuel filter at 20k miles-which I'm almost at.
I always thought 2nd major service included fuel filter. Should I pay to get it done???
At the moment I intend to keep it long term.
    Thanks in advance.

    For your car:

    Fuel filter change interval
    every 90.000 km

I have the PD170 engine, again the interval is about 70k but with the poor quality fuel around Ireland I change it every 30k. That and one only costs about €12 and it comes out on 5 screws.

Also, it can help catch certain issues on the 2l TDI engines early such as seals going on the oil pump.
Mine blackens fuel filters through seals on this pump, again it's always done it and I've been told by some not to bother looking at it as a little bit of oil is grand for the injectors and apparently it's a mare to do........I dunno!!

I had mine done at the second service on mine when I had it. It's probably overkill in some countries but with the quality of fuel in Ireland it makes sense. It probably won't do any harm waiting until the next service though either.

+1 as above, poor quality fuel is my main reason for doing it along with it not breaking the bank
