In Ireland is it illegal to drive a vehicle without the consent of its owner ?.

For example a vehicle is left with a valet company and they take it for a spin and break speed limits etc ?

Whether or not they break the rules of the road while they have your car would be immaterial to your question.

+1 leaving your car in for a service, there would be implied consent because taking it for a short spin is a standard part of a service and the same would apply if you were getting new tyres but there would be no such implied permission to take it for a drive as part of a valet.

S.112 as above, known as 'unauthorised taking' or 'U/T' in copper lingo.

However if you just noticed extra miles on the clock when you collected the car, there isn't much you can do about it unless you can prove who was actually driving the car.

Going by the OP - there is the chance they noticed it by getting a speeding ticket in the post.

The vehicle is fitted with a tracker.
