Which bike best best / what are the differences? (MTB)

I used to race motocross enduro but after multiple injuries I have decided to give that up and take up enduro / trail riding with an MTB. I have been using a carrera kraken for quite a while and decided I wanted an upgrade!

    Vitus - Escarpe VR - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vitus-bikes-escarpe-vr-suspension-bike-2016/rp-prod135373

    or

    Vitus - Sommet VR - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/vitus-bikes-sommet-vr-suspension-bike-2016/rp-prod135390

Only issue is, I really have no idea what to look for, or even if these are good for me and what I want to do. I would like a good all round bike, I enjoy the jump park, trails and a bit of downhill.

I noticed on the Sommet it has 3 Position Compression Damping, does that mean you can lock out the shock and have the bike like a hard tail, does that mean the Orange bike is unable to lock out the rear shock?

Any help on what I should purchase as I don't want to regret it, I know I should probably call Chain Reaction but I don't want the sales pitch.

Sommet is the more DH orientated bike (and has better brakes), I would suggest that it is compromised on climbs (and a bit too much for most things in Ireland, least stuff that I would try).

The Escarpe is a more all round bike (still prioritises descents though) - but a massive step up from the kraken.
