    Hi Folks,

I was hoping someone may be able to give me an idea of what these protrusions are. We have a timber frame house and these are on the ground floor ceilings in the living room and hallway.

Should I be worried? The house is about 9 years old and we're the first owners.

    Many thanks.

Are they pop-offs from the plasterboard screws/nails?

They are pop outs from the screws used to fix the plaster board to the timber joists, noting to worry about, remove the loose material and re fill and paint, also an idea to maybe put in extra slab screws around where their poping, it should eliminate the same happening again.

It looks to me that the worms that were living inside the joists have now matured and are ready to hatch.

Nah, seriously, just the heads of the screws popping the plaster off from movements etc

Phew.... thanks folks. Delighted to hear its nothing serious. Had concerns it was going to be complicated and costly to fix.
