    Hi all,
Neither the AA or RAC offer their inspection service for electric vehicles. I really would like to have this check done prior to travelling.

Does anybody know of a UK company that does this for Electric vehicles?

That's rather strange because apart from the obvious change there's the bodywork and chassis that they can check. Paperwork etc.

I don't get it... Sure they can verify bodywork, suspension, brakes, state of interior, history and other paperwork.

The only thing they will not be able to check are the batteries and electric motor.

Looking for a Nissan Leaf tekna

I guess it's just part of due diligence to get this check done.. Would you not agree?

Would be my own fault if I got it back to ireland and something emerged that I could have caught before purchasing.

If you buy In ireland you can test in and have some come back,

I bought a used Prius in the North a few months ago and the AA and RAC were no use to me at all (they weren't doing any vehicle inspections in NI). I found an independent assessor who would do the normal stuff (checks for damage, normal mechanical stuff, test drive, etc.) but not the hybrid system.

You can search for engineers who are members of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors in the UK here: http://www.iaea-online.org/find-an-engineer/
There is a filter for "pre-purchase" inspections.

Emergency services have to go through special training for EV accidents. Where to cut through 400 v 22kwh battery, etc.
