Audit to fund accounting?

    Hi all

Can someone help advise me on what the day to day life is like in fund accounting?

I'm currently working in audit in a big 4 firm although ive no experience of auditing financial services or investment funds.

I'm not liking audit and the firm I'm in is not a good fit for me. I'm thinking of applying for some graduate positions in fund accounting.

    How challenging is the work?

Would I need to be very savy with excel already or is there likely to be training provided that would be sufficient?

What are the working hours like?

I've considered quitting my current position without anything set up elsewhere with the goal of obtaining some or all of the 5 remaining ACCA professional exams and then applying for graduate roles in fund accounting?

Would the above be a bad idea?

My fear would be that I'm aware how challenging ACCA exams can be and I'm afraid what the consequences would be if I got a fund accounting role and failed ACCA exam?

This risk of failing such exams would obviously be greater if I'm working full time whilst studying than if I do the above option and take a few months out.
