Received 11S form for 2015, was director but not active with the business

    Hey all.

So long story short I went into business with a friend of mine back in 2014, and for one reason or another I ended up leaving the business.

I took up full time employment again in Jan 2015 (paying all my PRSI and USC and that), and I did fill out a tax return for 2014.

I was still listed as a company director about halfway into 2015, but I wasn't involved with the business in any way, shape or form, so didn't make a penny out of it. The business was eventually switched to a single director company, and I was removed as director.

So I got the 11S form about 2 or 3 weeks ago and went to fill it in this evening, but I'm not sure if I even need to.

As I earned exactly €0.00 from self-employment in 2015, I have no tax or anything to pay. Any money I earned from employment in 2015 has already had all tax contributions and everything payed, and this is obviously recorded somewhere within Revenue.

I'm going to ring the Revenue Office on Monday to see what they can recommend, but I just thought I'd post here on the off-chance someone can provide me answer to stop it bothering me over the weekend.

You were still a director in 2015 regardless of income. You still have to file the return. Just complete it and send it back. It will take you 5 minutes. Also deregister yourself for income tax at the same time if you haven't already done so.
