That is really impressive looking for the money. I have a Windows Asus tablet with lesser specs that I've had for maybe 3 years now and it's a great device. Definitely more suited to general browsing than real work imo. I wonder what the battery life on this would be like??

The review on Techradar (I just added them to the OP) says that the battery life could be better.

    TechTablet says:
The Hi10 has a 8000 mAh battery (I think it has 6600mAh), the same as the Vi10. Setting the tablet to 50% brightness, Wireless on and surfing the net, watching a few clips of Mr Robot, I managed to get 6 hours and 55 minutes before it shut down on me. This isn’t a bad total at all and around the same as the Chuwi Vi10 which isn’t bad considering this has a 1920 x 1200 screen and the Vi10 has only a 1366 x 768 screen. I think running the screen brightness right down low and on airplane mode it should be able to loop an HD movie for a good 8-9 hours.

XDA also says it has 8000 mAh..

I'm very tempted.. I've been watching this one and was also looking at its bigger 12" brother which is better again, but I need to be "sensible" this month :(

I'm struggling with this one too.. :/

I think the battery is 8000mAh, it might be a mistake in the BG description. I'm still reading through the XDA thread, and it seems that there were issues with it early on, but everything seems good with the Dual Boot OS firmware on it. Many are asking how to do it.

    Literally just saw that :D

The speakers are in a bad spot too. But that helps with the pricing.
(Speakers and camera seem to be the hardware that was skimped on to save money)

I think it's well worth a punt at this price, still reading a bit more about it though.

For anyone interested I would like to stick my spoke in on the Chuwi brand.

My Chuwi VI10 is now dead after about one year of moderate use. This was my own fault since i dropped it from about sofa height and the screen is now done for.

I had to go look for another tablet/laptop for general use and I went with an ASUS transformer CHI.

I would not buy another Chuwi:

Honestly build quality was pretty poor.

After a couple of month the plastic around the screen started coming off in bits and pieces and started to have a jagged edge in the area where you would normally hold the tablet.

Keyboard supplied was damaged at the connector soon after purchased also.

On the VI10 i was managing about 5hrs of decent use between charges so i was not unhappy with that. Generally the tablet was pretty good in use so i cannot complain about that.

But due to bad build quality i would not buy the Chuwi brand and will never buy the brand again. Even though it was my own fault in dropping the tablet i was looking to change since i thought the Chuwi was almost dead anyway.

In purchasing a new tablet I would be expecting more than one year from it.

After opening and using the ASUS, i would say it is in a different league to it quality wise despite the specs being worse.

I have the Vi10 and its still going perfectly well 6 months later, build quality seems fine,in fairness it doesnt get used much so it might fall apart with more usage, for the price it was great value (€150 inc keyboard) but the only downside is it takes about 8/10hrs to fully charge, not sure if that particular problem transfers to the Hi10

I bet your charging issue is to do with the USB cable supply, get an anker braided USB and it will charge faster I'd bet. My Asus Win8 tablet was terribly slow to charge on any cable other than the 30cm one supplied with it. Bought that cable and it's much better now.

That. And make sure you get a 2AMP charger. There are a lot of 1AMP chargers out there that are no good for a higher end phone / tablet. Far too slow.

Used every 2A charger I have, and every USB lead as well,it used to charge in about 5/6 hrs but now takes about twice that,

That said I cannot remember which lead and charger it came with, and they all get swapped around here between various phones and tablets.

Would there be any way to get rid of the Android OS to have more space for the Windows?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66,224 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Of course. But that wouldn't be for the faint-hearted. It would involve wiping the disk and installing W10 from scratch.

Anybody going for one of these?

Tried the code in the first post but it said "Coupon is only allowed to use in special collection list."

    Gaaaaahh..
    I held out too long.

It seems that they hadn't intended on that coupon working with it, but they are honouring it. This is the coupon for $20 off - f1fba9

Which seems to be a good price. I've read tons on it, and it seems the very early versions of this tablet had some issues. The version with Serial 64G422160XXXXXX and up have the issues fixed.
By all accounts it seems to be a great tablet.

There seems to be a small minority with issues. No more than any other Company/Tablet.

I'm now thinking of biting the bullet at this price, as it was the initial price that got me looking at it.

I have one of these for sale. Mine's BNIB and completely unopened. It's only Windows 10 and not dual boot. I can't match the deal price, but will sell for what I paid and you can avoid a two week wait for it to ship from China.

I'll accept an offer of €175 from anybody coming from Boards.ie

I'm sure somebody will point out that this offer isn't as good as the original deal posted, which it isn't, but you'll need a flux capacitor to avail of the Banggood offer now.

Bought a Chuwi tablet for my nephew and it was woeful...never again. Quailty was shocking, didn't charge via standard USB (not sure if this one does) and the screen shattered easily.
