tv sound problem

    Hi kitchen tv is a few years old, has sky box connected directly to it.
    for last few days the sound suddenly stops. works ok when in preview panel on sky but not on main viewer.
    There is another tv attached to the sky box in the bedroom and no such problems.

    This is confusing me.
    If it was the tv it should be happening in both full screen and preview panel.
    If it is the sky box it should happen on the bedroom tv as well.

    Totally confused do I need new tv or get on to sky about the box.
