Single room Heat recovery. Old house

Hi. I am doing up a sitting room in our old farm house. The house has zero ventilation. I saw these single room hrv units and taught that it might suit as they cost circa 300 and boring a hole and wiring it is not a big issue while I am doing up the room.
The house is far from airtight but not bad at all compared to many houses built in the 2000's. And is double glazed.
So any advice on them in general or brand specific

Noise level is one issue, the other is if a big room how much actual ventilation will all the room get if this is just stuck in a corner as the intake and exhaust are side by side.
Is there a open fireplace in room?
    will pm some brands

Room is 14 foot by 14 foot. Noise would be a problem for me.
There is an open fireplace there which I am putting a stove into. Not sure if stove will be standard or get one that brings air in from an external pipe like the ones for passive house.
Not looking for miracles just an improvement over existing situation.

Sort the stove solution first and then maybe look at a whole of house solution.
