    Hey guys

If a mother is receiving an increase for a qualified child (€29.80) with their social welfare payment, and then some time after they begin to receive maintenance for the child from the other parent.

Will social welfare stop the increase for the qualified child?

    Thanks!

One of the conditions attached to getting a SW payment, that you agree to when you accept the payment, is that you will notify the department of any changes in your circumstances.
Receiving extra income, for instance maintenance, would be considered a change in circumstances, so the person should notify the SW office that pays them, and let them take it from there.

It will potentially be assessed as means against the overall claim and depending on other factors also.
