Not the cult classic from years back but a new show, two episodes in and it's nice trashy summer viewing.
AMERICAN GOTHIC centers on a prominent Boston family reeling in the wake of the chilling discovery that someone in their midst is linked to an infamous string of murders. As shocking secrets from the past and present are revealed, their mounting suspicion and paranoia that one of them is a killer threatens to tear the family apart.

I'm a MAJOR fan of the original 1994 cult classic American Gothic starring Gary Cole and Lucas Black (now of NCIS:New Orleans fame). I remember going nuts trying to watch it when it first aired over here on RTE. Great series. I must rewatch it.

As for New American Gothic, it looks strong enough. I thought the opener was good but it didn't completely engage me either. I'll chalk that up to getting the story off the ground and I'm looking forward to ep 2 later.

I liked the opener, will gladly watch the second one over the weekend. Seems perfect one to pass the summer with.

Watched the first episode and it's solid enough, definitely warrants a few more, viewing figures very strong as well so far.

I'm 3 episodes in, with the fourth from last night sitting there ready for viewing later this evening. I will tell ye without any spoilage that so far the twists and turns have been really good. You'll jump to one theory, then something else happens and you'll jump to another.

    Kinda
Cam's kid is severely messed up. His antics are getting worse with each episode so far.

Seriously good show, just finished Ep4 and I am hooked. Would advise people to check it out. Rare for a TV show to have so many twists and turns within the space of a few episodes - it really does make you formulate opinions every episode only to shatter them with the follow up. Excellent stuff, highly recommended.

Enjoying this a lot. Watched the first 5 episodes over the last few days. Great ensemble cast and it will keep you on your toes.

All signs are pointing towards Garrett being the SBK, but it's probably safe to assume that he's not. I expect a
blood relative/bastard child that we perhaps haven't met yet

From strength to strength, Ep6 was a cracker. The twists and turns in this show are excellent and it moves at an excellent pace.

The latest episode filled in 90% of the jigsaw and it was very clever and well done. Most of the mysteries from the first 10 episodes were cleared up, and they have nicely set up next week's double episode finale to catch
    the accomplice

****, I thought that was the finale! Dying for the conclusion next week, if not for this thread I genuinely wouldn't even have gone looking for it!

Finished it. Very satisfying finale. The clues were there all along.

I liked the little sting in the tail too.

If anyone is holding back to binge, there are no cliffhangers and a couple of small hooks for a second season (if commissioned).

Yeah, very pleased with how they wrapped it up - enough crumbs to tease another season, but satisfying enough that can be taken on its own as a mini-series. Great stuff, some serious twists and turns the entire way through.

I didn't expect much from this show when it started but I've been pleasantly surprised. Also helped that Anthony Starr was in it as I had just finished Banshee and was in withdrawal!

Cancelled by CBS, though the first season is essentially self contained so can still be watched as a mini-series without any abrupt endings, irritating lack of resolution or cliffhangers - wish more shows would take a similar approach!
