    Hi ,

I am interested in doing a Springboard ICT Conversion course . At the moment I'm looking at the Software Development conversion courses offered in University of Limerick or Limerick Institute of Technology .

Just wondering if anyone here has done either and has feedback or can offer a reason to choose one over the other .

    Thanks ,

    Barry

I'm actually in a similar situation, I am trying to decide between DIT and UCD.

One specialises in software development (DIT), and the other (UCD) is a general computer science degree (which has modules in software development anyway).

I really don't know which one I'd be better off with, I suppose software since it's the most booming sector right now I think?

BTW I also applied to UL and I think the testimonials there look pretty good.

Really depends which area of software you want to get into, so many different areas in IT . One bit of advice I can give don't do a course just because its the booming thing and on that one yes in Dublin its booming but not as much as around other areas of the country (Job Wise).

You really need an interest in development and have some idea of the basics before you do these courses. Just research these courses before committing and wasting 2 years of your life .

You need an interest for sure, but no prior knowledge is assumed in the UL course at least.

Normally you would be looking at 3-4 years to get the basics . So squeezing it into 2 years would be fairly intense . I haven't seen the UL course but Fas offer a similar course as well and is slightly more Industry oriented . Best of lucky which ever one you choose.
