With the recent news that Starbucks are coming to the city, it has now also been confirmed that Homestore & More are also on the way. This can only be seen as very good news for Waterford as its another well established retailer setting up here. I wonder where they might be setting up home, would old B&Q unit be to big for them I wonder?

That's where they are going and work has already started at reducing the size of the unit.

Good news anyway, when they open, they definitely open.

And when they're gone, they're definitely gone.

Where will Starbucks be? Lets hope they don't make a big planning mistake like with the 3 Cork outlets!

I believe they are going where Toymaster was in John Roberts Square.

Also great to see Elverys moving into A Ware.

Homestore and more are moving into the b&q building

Unit 8 (next to harvey Norman) is being extended to 2000 sqm and has planning specifically for bulky homeware.

Some ranges they do won't be allowed under planning guidelines.

Probably will be early next year before it opens.

B&Q unit has been taken by The Range.

Good to see those units being full again soon.

It is a pity TK Maxx was shunted out of there before. It was a fine big store, and always seem to be full of queues. The one in Poleberry is a lot smaller, and less stock. I guess at least it stayed in Waterford which is a good thing.

The Range were supposed to be going in there but they pulled out. Home store are going into B&Q as I've said already work has started at reducing the size of the unit and that should be completed in about 5 weeks. Shop fit out should start soon after.

This is indeed good news. I love their stuff.
Anytime I'm near mahon in Cork I make it my business to stop into their place there.

Has put a smile on my face!

(Oh wait hang on...we need some negativity too...errmm...

It'll probably rain all summer! Pah!)

Even if they split b&q it's still going to be a fair size. I commute regularly between Wexford and Waterford and always have a shopping list to drop into the Wexford branch.

Will keep the family quiet now that they can shop here. Hopefully it will increase the footfall to the other stores in the retail centre

Not to derail the thread but did anyone see anything about them advertising for jobs for the new store yet?
